Cara Farr Owner and Lead Primary GuideCara has been an educator for over 20 years, and the owner and lead teacher of Firefly (formerly Concordia) Montessori for the past five! She holds an Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education and is credentialed as a primary guide by the American Montessori Society. She is the mother of two children. Her passion is nurturing the spirit of the child through hands on learning experiences, building confidence, fostering independence, and inspiring curiosity and creativity. Cara puts a strong emphasis on developing social skills and resolving conflicts in a positive way that encourages children to take responsibility for their actions. She is dedicated to educating young children in a fun and nurturing environment built upon mutual trust and respect. Within these bonds, creativity and learning adventures can flourish.

Sara Lockman, Assistant Teacher
Sara is so excited to be an assistant teacher at Firefly! She loves children's fresh perspectives on life and loves to see them grow. She has been a Girl Scout leader for 11 years.
Here's what Emily Foster a Sabin kindergarten teacher had to say, "Sara was so great with the kids. She always had a smile on her face! She was patient and encouraged kids to do their best. The kids loved having her in our room, and so did I." Sara is currently a student of psychology at Portland State University. She plans to continue her education and become an RN. She has two children and has been an active member of of the Portland community for over 20 years. She loves to hike, camp, travel, and share stories with friends she meets along the way.
